National Hydrologic Discussion - EXPERIMENTAL
NWS National Water Center - Tuscaloosa AL
1015 AM CDT SAT JUL 12 2025

.Synopsis...
Isolated flooding potential in the Southern Plains and Mid-Atlantic into
the Northeast...

.Southern Plains...
Periods of moderate to locally heavy rainfall (1 - 3", locally higher
possible) through day 2 (Sun) will bring a renewed threat for isolated, yet
potentially significant flooding impacts, especially from central TX into
OK, where the hydrologic environment remains sensitive following recent
heavy rainfall. Localized training and high rainfall rates of greater than
2" (MRMS) are ongoing with this event, which may result in enhanced runoff
and rapid rises in area streams, arroyos, and low water crossings.
Additionally, recently burned areas will also remain susceptible to flash
flooding and debris flows.

.Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast...
A wet pattern will remain in place for the next several days, (7-day totals
up to 3"), across an already vulnerable region from previous heavy rainfall
which has increased the potential for renewed flooding impacts. Due to the
extended timeframe, confidence remains low regarding any hydrologic
responses, but given the complex terrain and highly urbanized areas,
isolated flash flooding cant be entirely ruled out.
