National Hydrologic Discussion - EXPERIMENTAL
NWS National Water Center - Tuscaloosa AL

.Synopsis...
Daily rainfall possible in the Southeast and Northern Plains... Isolated
river flooding continues in Midwest...

.Southeast...
Daily rainfall is expected through day 5 (Thu) as a frontal boundary slowly
moves southward. Most flooding impacts may be mitigated due to sandy and
generally dry soils initially. Soil moisture conditions will increase
through the event, thus increasing the potential for flooding impacts as
well as a continued threat in urban areas. Given the expected slow movement
of any storms and the already observed high rainfall rates, localized
considerable flood impacts are not completely out of the question even in
areas with drier antecedent conditions.

.Northern Plains...
Multiple days of showers and thunderstorms over the region through day 6
(Fri) will bring the potential for localized flash and urban flooding. In
general, daily rainfall will be less than 1". Even with low daily rainfall
accumulation, spread out over multiple days, it will increase the potential
for more widespread impact and the potential for small stream flooding.

.Midwest...
Isolated moderate to major river flooding from recent rainfall will persist
through late week across east-central Iowa on portions of the Iowa and
Wapsipincion Rivers as water routes downstream. Widespread action to minor
stage will persist from southern Minnesota into the middle Mississippi
through next weekend.
