Flash and urban flooding possible across the Southwest... Elevated flows and isolated river flooding in Alaska... Isolated flash flooding possible in South Texas... .Southwest... Flash and urban flooding is possible through this weekend due to monsoonal moisture generating periods of moderate to heavy rainfall. While widespread flooding is not expected, rapid rises on small streams in steep terrain, as well as in arroyos, slot canyons, and normally dry washes, remain possible where heavy rainfall occurs. Debris flows are also possible near recently burned areas. .Alaska... Streams and rivers in the Interior and western Brooks Range are still running high from glacial melt and recent rainfall. Water levels will gradually improve but remain elevated, with additional rainfall through this week and next week likely to slow recessions. .South Texas... Tropical moisture may bring the potential for isolated flash flooding across portions of southern Texas on days 4-5 (Sun-Mon). Given the timing of the event, uncertainty still remains in rainfall totals and placement. //TMK $$
