National Hydrologic Discussion - EXPERIMENTAL
NWS National Water Center - Tuscaloosa AL
1015 AM CDT FRI OCT 3 2025

.Synopsis...
Wet pattern through early next week across portions of the Southeast...
Heavy rainfall potential across the Southwest late next week...

.Southeast...
Daily rounds of moderate to locally heavy rainfall through early next week
may generate isolated areal and urban flooding impacts along the Southeast
Coast (FL/GA/SC) and portions of the Central Gulf Coast (LA/MS/AL). The
greatest potential for impacts will be along the east coast of FL, where
the heaviest rainfall totals are expected through early next week (3 -
6"+). The latest guidance from the National Water Model (NWM) indicates
little to no streamflow response to these areas, supporting the idea of
impacts being limited to urban areas.

.Southwest...
Moderate to potentially heavy rainfall is expected to move into portions of
the Desert Southwest (southeastern CA, AZ, and NM) beginning on day 7
(Thursday) as a plume of tropical moisture moves into the region from the
Baja Peninsula. Given the extended time range and continued spread in the
model guidance, there remains considerable uncertainty in the placement and
magnitude of hydrologic impacts.
