Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alaska

- Temperatures remain warm through the weekend, with highs over
the Arctic Plains in the 70s to near 80F Saturday and Sunday.
Along the Arctic Coast, highs stay in the 50s and 60s.
Temperatures cool significantly into the 50s and 60s from Monday
onward.
- South/southwest winds will increase to 10 to 15 mph with gusts
up to 25 to 27 mph across the Western Arctic Coast and Howard
Pass on Saturday. Winds remain generally light and variable elsewhere.
- Wetting rain chances remain low Saturday and Sunday, limited
strictly to the Western Arctic Coast and Howard Pass, while the
rest of the region remains dry. Wetting rain chances increase
across much of the North Slope and Brooks Range from Monday
onward.
