.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures continue to remain warm on the North Slope.
Temperatures in the Arctic Plain will be in the 70s to near 80
with locations near the foothills of the Brooks Range in the 80s
to near 90. Temperatures gradually rise through the week with mid
80s in the Arctic Plain expected on Friday and upper 80s to low
90s expected in the Sag River and Brooks Range Valleys. By and
large expecting minimum RH to drop near or below 30 percent.
Breezy east-northeast winds across the area this afternoon with
gusts up to 20 to 30 mph. We are not expecting any thunderstorms
for Wednesday, but on Thursday isolated thunderstorms are possible
on the Western Brooks Range near Red Dog Mine and the Western
Arctic Plain.
