.DISCUSSION...
Friday around noon temperatures through the North Slope were
climbing, with 70s to 80s being reported at sites separated from
the influence of northerly cold arctic winds. RH values were also
dropping below 50 percent. Still expecting northerly winds later
Friday afternoon with gusts to 25 mph possible. Saturday,
expecting scattered thunderstorms along the Brooks Range and
Arctic Plains, which could bring brief periods of heavy rain and
gusty winds. Sunday and Monday we expect the ridge to break down,
bringing scattered showers, temperatures back into the 60s, and
excellent RH recoveries.
