.DISCUSSION...
A low pressure system over the Arctic Ocean continues to rotate
energy through northern and central Alaska. There is a southwest
flow aloft and breezy southerly winds at the surface. There will be
widespread rain throughout the Brooks Range and North Slope on
Tuesday. Cloudy skies...cooler temperatures...and high humidities
will occur. Daytime temperatures will generally be in the 50s.
Isolated thunderstorms remain possible over the eastern Brooks Range
on Tuesday. The rainfall stops from the west to the east on
Wednesday. By Thursday skies begin to clear as a ridge of high
pressure builds over northern Alaska. Winds will be light. A warming
and drying trend will develop Thursday into the weekend.
Temperatures should rise into the 60s again with decreasing
humidities.
