.DISCUSSION...
Cooler weather is expected the next couple days, with
temperatures over inland locations in the mid to upper 70s
Saturday falling by about 3 to 5 degrees on Sunday and dropping
into the 50s Monday. Min RH values will likewise rise from the
30s and 40s Saturday into the 60s by Sunday as numerous to
widespread showers move through. This will be accompanied by a
wind shift, with gusty west winds of 15 to 25 mph Sunday morning
becoming northeasterly at 15 to 20 mph late Sunday night and
Monday. Isolated thunderstorms will also be possible over the
Eastern Brooks Range on Sunday among showers there and will yield
the potential for briefly stronger, gusty winds, and heavy rain.
The southern half of the North Slope, especially along the
northern slopes of the Eastern Brooks Range, will see the
potential for 0.5 to 1 inches of rain through Tuesday night, with
locally higher totals in spots. Additional wetting rains are
possible from midweek onward.
