.DISCUSSION...High pressure has established itself over the area with
mostly clear skies inland of the immediate coast where fog has developed. Strong
north winds through Brooks Range Passes are expected to slowly ease
Saturday. Well above normal temperatures persist through Monday
inland of the immediate coast. Clouds increase on Sunday ahead of a
front arriving from the west, though only light precipitation is
expected Sunday across the western North Slope. Precipitation
chances and wetting rains increase significantly on Monday and
Tuesday as a trough over the Chukchi Sea rotates another wave of
moisture over the area. Rainfall diminishes Wednesday before a ridge
of high pressure builds back in for the end of the week with
temperatures likely reaching back up into the 70s.
