West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A cold front will move over the N
and central waters this evening, reaching the far S waters
tonight before stalling over or near the far S waters from late
tonight through Fri night. Behind the front, high pressure builds
S, resulting in counterflow to the Gulf Stream and the potential
for steeper, breaking waves. High pressure then continues over
the N and central waters into Fri night, and then over the far N
waters into Sat. To the S, low pressure should form along the
stalled cold front on Fri. The low will deepen and expand as it
moves N Fri night through Sun, eventually being centered off of
the mid-Atlantic coast Sun night, then stalling or drifting E
through Mon night. Mariners should monitor later forecasts on
this coastal system, and begin to consider avoidance plans for
the weekend.
