221 FZNT34 KWBC 070856 OFFN32 Marine Weather HF Voice Broadcast NWS Ocean Prediction Center Washington DC 456 AM EDT Tue Oct 7 2025 West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore. Conditions given represent the highest within that period. Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms. .SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...High pressure continues over the area through tonight. The high gradually shifts E overnight as a cold front approaches from the W. The cold front moves E across the N and central waters Wed and Wed night, eventually stalling over or near the far S waters Thu. Behind the front, another high builds S, resulting in counterflow to the Gulf Stream and the potential for steeper, breaking waves. High pressure then continues over most of the area into Fri night, and then over the N waters Sat and Sat night. To the S, low pressure should form along the stalled cold front on Fri. The low and its associated warm front should slowly move N offshore of the SE U.S. coast Fri night through Sat night. The USCG broadcast from Charleston, South Carolina is still experiencing technical difficulties. Technicians are aware of the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.
