West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A cold front over the S waters
will continue to move S today, stalling over or near the far S
waters tonight through Fri night. High pressure builds S behind
the front, resulting in counterflow to the Gulf Stream and the
potential for steeper, breaking waves. High pressure then
continues over the N and central waters into Fri night, and then
over the far N waters into Sat. To the S, low pressure should
form offshore of the E Florida coast along the stalled front Fri
night. The low will deepen and expand as it moves N late Fri
night through Sun, eventually being centered off of the mid-
Atlantic coast Sun night. The broad, complex low will extend over
much of the east coast Sun night and Mon, with the broad low
finally starting to shift E Mon night. Mariners must monitor
later forecasts on the coastal system, and begin to consider
avoidance plans as needed. This will be a long duration event for
the east coast, impactful to the mariner.
