.SYNOPSIS...Hurricane Erin is centered E of the central Bahamas
near 24.4N 71.7W at 11 PM EDT, and is moving northwest at 7 kt.
Maximum sustained winds are 110 kt with gusts to 135 kt, and the
minimum central pressure is 949 mb. Erin will continue to move
away of the San Juan Atlantic Waters to 25.4N 72.3W Tue morning,
27.1N 73.2W Tue evening, and near 29.2N 73.7W Wed morning. Scattered
to isolated showers associated with Erin will move away of the
region by Tue evening. Moderate to fresh SE to S winds across the
regional waters will diminish to gentle to moderate speeds Tue
morning and then become easterly Wed. Otherwise, a tropical wave
located over the central tropical Atlantic is producing some
disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions
appear conducive for gradual development of this system, and a
tropical depression could form toward the end of the week as the
system approaches the offshore waters of Puerto Rico. Rough seas
are anticipated with the passage of this system over the weekend.
