NAVTEX Marine Forecast for Mid-Atlantic states waters
NWS Ocean Prediction Center Washington DC
1050 AM EDT Sat May 17 2025

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

...Please refer to Coastal Waters Forecasts (CWF) available
through NOAA Weather Radio and other means for detailed coastal
waters forecasts...

.SYNOPSIS...A warm front over the far northern waters will lift N
of the area this afternoon. A cold front will approach from the W
today, and then move E and SE over the waters tonight into Sun.
Mariners should use caution for locally gusty winds and rough
seas in and near locally heavy tstms over the waters through
tonight. Otherwise, low pressure will drift E and pass N and then
NE of the area Sun night into Tue as a series of secondary cold
fronts or low pressure troughs move E and SE over the N and
central areas. A weak high pressure ridge will build S and SE
over the region later Tue and Tue night as a warm front extends E
off the SE coast. The warm front will lift N across the area Wed
and Wed night. A developing low pressure area will approach from
the W and SW, and then move just off of the Delmarva or New
Jersey coast Wed night, with a trailing cold front extending S
along the coast.
