...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT CONTINUES THROUGH THE WEEKEND DUE
TO HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS AND AFTERNOON WINDS...

.DISCUSSION...Lingering high pressure will bring another round of
hot and dry conditions to the Pickett Fire through Sunday. Not a
lot of relief Saturday night as thermal belts remain active,
moderate humidity recoveries in the lower elevations, and poor
recoveries in the higher elevations (above 2000 feet). Breezy
west to southwest winds develop each afternoon and evening with
light and terrain- driven winds overnight and in the morning.
Monsoonal moisture continues to bring a very low (5-10%) chance
for high-based convection through Saturday. If storms do form, the
main threats will be dry lightning and gusty winds. Fire weather
conditions begin to gradually improve on Sunday, with better
overnight recoveries and cooler temperatures into the early part
of next week.
