TO HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS AND AFTERNOON WINDS...

.DISCUSSION...Hot and dry conditions will continue to impact the
Pickett Fire through the weekend as high pressure remains over
the area. Friday night will not bring much relief with active
thermal belts, moderate humidity recoveries in the lower
elevations, and poor recoveries in the higher elevations. Breezy
southwest winds develop each afternoon and evening with light and
terrain-driven winds overnight and in the morning. Monsoonal
moisture continues to bring a very low, but non-zero, chance for
high-based convection through Saturday. If storms do form, the
main threats will be dry lightning and gusty winds. Fire weather
conditions begin to improve on Saturday night, with improving
overnight recoveries and cooler temperatures into the early part
of next week.
