...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT CONTINUES THROUGH THE WEEKEND DUE
TO HOT AND DRY CONDITIONS AND AFTERNOON WINDS...

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT SATURDAY...

.DISCUSSION...Hot and dry conditions will impact the Pickett Fire
today due to high pressure over the region. Not much relief is
expected Friday night as thermal belts will be active with lower
elevations seeing moderate humidity recovery and poor humidity
recovery over higher elevations. Winds will be light and mostly
terrain driven this morning before increasing this afternoon. Monsoonal
moisture from the south brings a very low, but non- zero, chance
for elevated convection Friday and Saturday. If storms develop,
they will likely be dry, which could produce dry lightning and
gusty winds.
