...Discussion from SFOFWFMTR...

Moist and chilly airmass in place through the forecast period.
Another frontal system expected to move through the region tomorrow,
with wetting rain chances district-wide Wednesday afternoon into the
evening hours. Gusty SW winds ahead of the front on Wednesday,
turning NW by midday Thursday. Additional rainfall chances through
the late week and early next week as the storm pattern remains
active.

...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA...

Lingering showers will taper off Tuesday before stronger front
begins moving in Tuesday evening. There are high probabilities for
strong southerly winds gusting over 45 mph to impact the coastal
areas Wednesday morning, and stronger gusts greater than 50 mph
over the interior ridges of Humboldt and Del Norte counties. There
will be widespread moderate rainfall, and heavy rainfall rates
for Northern Humboldt and Del Norte. A very unstable airmass will
develop Wednesday through Thursday with the arrival of a cold
trough, and isolated to scattered thunderstorms will develop. Some
thunderstorms along the coastal waters and coastal regions are
expected to be on the stronger side with the high instability, and
SPC has outlined a Marginal Risk for severe thunderstorms on
Wednesday. Farther south, Lake County is forecast to collect
around 0.4 to 0.6 inch of additional rainfall Wednesday. Snow
levels will drop down to 4000 feet Wednesday, and some mountain
snowfall is expected, particularly in Northeast Trinity County.
