...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY EARLY MORNING ACROSS MONTEREY AND SAN BENITO COUNTIES DUE
TO HIGH BASED THUNDERSTORMS...
.DISCUSSION...A slight (15%) chance of thunderstorms continues
through early Thursday morning for Monterey and San Benito
Counties. Confidence has increased compared to earlier this
morning due to the overperformance of thunderstorm activity late
this morning and afternoon compared to model guidance. Otherwise,
the marine layer deepens to between 2000 to 2500 feet tomorrow
into the weekend before ridging returns late weekend and
compresses the marine layer. Overnight recoveries improve across
the region as the marine layer deepens while poor to fair daytime
humidity retention continues above 2000 feet and interior Central
Coast. Typical breezy onshore winds remain each afternoon and
evening, where gusts of 25-35mph are expected for favored gaps,
passes, and valleys.
