...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of north central Deer
Lodge, southeastern Granite and southeastern Powell Counties through
300 PM MDT...

At 214 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Garrison, or 13 miles north of Deer Lodge, moving northeast at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Deer Lodge, Anaconda, Philipsburg, Garrison, West Valley, Jens,
Princeton, Brock Creek, Avon, Porters Corner, Lost Creek, Goldcreek,
Georgetown, and Elliston.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 90 between mile markers 160 and 188.
 Highway 12 Garrison to MacDonald Pass between mile markers 0 and 16.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
