...A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL SANDERS...
NORTHWESTERN LAKE AND SOUTHWESTERN FLATHEAD COUNTIES UNTIL 345 PM
MDT...
At 249 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms extending from 13 miles north of Plains extending from
20 miles east of Thompson Falls to 28 miles east of Superior, moving
northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Flathead Lake, Polson, Ronan, Kerr, Big Arm, Jette, Rocky Point,
Kings Point, Pablo, Turtle Lake, Dixon, Old Agency, Hot Springs,
Round Butte, Elmo, Dayton, Charlo, Moiese, Proctor, Lonepine and
Niarada.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
If on or near Flathead Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
