.DISCUSSION...
Westerly winds will continue through this evening, with occasional
gusts near 15 mph. Winds will switch out of the northwest after
sunset. Thermal belts will develop tonight under a ridge of high
pressure, with recoveries in the mid-40s. Winds will remain out of
the northwest tonight before shifting to the southeast after
sunrise. A trough of low pressure will bring waves of showers and
thunderstorms Friday into Saturday. The first round of rain will
arrive around noon Friday, with an hour or two of precipitation.
The atmosphere will destabilize in the afternoon, with
thunderstorms developing in the area by early afternoon. Storms
will be capable of producing brief heavy rain and outflow winds
near 30 mph through the evening. Showers will continue tomorrow
night into Saturday as the trough moves into northwest Montana and
stalls. Through Saturday morning, confidence is high (>90%
probability) for wetting rains, with a 60% chance for 0.25 inches
