.DISCUSSION...
Idaho (Zones 102 and 103): A heatwave is expected under a ridge of high
pressure through Monday. Elevated fire weather is expected Monday as
the ridge begins to break down, with gusts of 20 to 25 mph to the
region. A north to east wind shift is possible on Tuesday along with a
chance for rain, cooler temperatures and higher humidity.
Northwest MT (Zones 104 and 105): A warming trend is expected through
Sunday under high pressure. A tightening northwest flow will aid gusty
winds for mountain locations, especially towards Glacier National Park.
A strong cold front passage originating out of Canada (from north to
south) is likely late Monday into Monday night, so gusty north to east
winds, cooler temperatures and higher humidity will be expected through
Wednesday.
West Central MT (Zones 106, 107 and 108): A warming trend is expected through
Sunday under high pressure. A tightening northwest flow will aid gusty
winds for mountain locations, especially in upper elevations east of
Missoula. A ridge break-down is likely Monday, with elevated fire
weather conditions from gusty winds. A strong cold front passage
originating out of Canada (from north to south) is possible late Monday
into Monday night, with gusty north to east winds, cooler temperatures
and higher humidity.
Southwest MT (Zones 109, 110 and 111): A warming trend is expected through
Sunday under high pressure. Deep mixing will promote elevated fire
weather conditions with dry humidity and west-northwest wind gusts of
15-25 mph each afternoon through Monday. A strong cold front passage
originating out of Canada (from north to south) is possible late Monday
into Monday night, with gusty north to east winds, cooler temperatures
and higher humidity.
