...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL CHEROKEE AND CLAY
COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 540 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Nantahala Lake, or 8 miles northeast of
Hayesville, moving southwest at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Andrews, Murphy, Hayesville, Nantahala Lake, Shooting Creek,
Tusquitee, Hiawasse Dam, Marble, Brasstown, and Unaka.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
