Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
227 PM EDT Sat Aug 2 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A classic summer pattern is in store for this weekend, featuring hot
and humid conditions. Scattered afternoon pop-up showers and
thunderstorms are likely, especially over the mountains, providing
brief relief from the heat. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible.
This warm and muggy weather with a chance of daily storms will
continue right into the start of the new work week on Monday.
