Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
100 PM EST Mon Nov 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

...Low Afternoon Relative Humidity And Increasing Winds Tuesday...

Tomorrow we switch to southerly flow. However, the current airmass
that is in place is extremely dry and it will take some time for
dewpoints to rise across the region. Therefore, expect another
day of low min RH on Tuesday. Additionally, winds begin to
increase tomorrow ahead of an approaching system. This combination
of low RH and increasing winds will allow for elevated fire
weather concerns for tomorrow.

Precipitation begins to move into the area Tuesday night. The
bulk of the precip is expected to occur across our northern areas,
with our southwest VA counties averaging around 0.25 inches.
Little rainfall, around 0.1 inches or less, is expected south of
I-40. Clouds and light and scattered rain showers on Wednesday,
but little QPF, perhaps a few hundredths of an inch. Our next
meaningful rain chances occur from Thursday and into the weekend.
