Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...Southwest
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
137 PM EDT Thu Oct 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Drier air arrives with high pressure. Seasonable temperatures and
dry weather will persist through the weekend. Typically in these
scenarios afternoon relative humidities can be lower than most
weather models forecast. Have erred on the lower dewpoint/RH
values in the official forecast, and will monitor trends over the
next few afternoons
