The National Weather Service in Morristown has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Russell County in southwestern Virginia...
  Northeastern Scott County in southwestern Virginia...
  Central Washington County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 830 PM EDT.

* At 624 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Abingdon, Glade Spring, Lindell, Holston, Emory-Meadowview,
  Hansonville, Castlewood and Konnarock.

This includes Interstate 81 in Virginia between mile markers 17 and
34.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
