...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Periods of heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow
  accumulations between 4 and 30 inches by Sunday night, greatest
  along and north of M-28 from Munising eastward. Snow accumulations
  will be lowest to the south and west of Chatham. Winds gusting as
  high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Alger, Luce, and Northern Schoolcraft Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy
  blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
  conditions will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Accumulating lake effect snow will continue
  into Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions if you must travel.

* WHAT...Occasional heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow
  accumulations of 6 to 20 inches, greatest in the high terrain.
  Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Keweenaw and Northern Houghton Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of
  blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
  conditions will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Accumulating lake effect snow will continue
  through Monday.

* WHAT...Periods of heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow
  accumulations between 5 and 20 inches by Saturday morning.
  Greatest snow accumulations will occur in the higher terrain from
  just north of Ironwood to Painesdale.

* WHERE...Baraga, Gogebic, Ontonagon, and Southern Houghton Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening to 7 AM EST /6 AM
  CST/ Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy
  blowing snow in open areas near Lake Superior will significantly
  reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact
  Thanksgiving holiday travel.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Accumulating lake effect snow will continue
  through Monday.

  The hazardous conditions will impact Thanksgiving holiday travel.
