.DISCUSSION...

High pressure settles overhead the Great Lakes today allowing dense
smoke concentrations to persist across Lake Superior. Light winds
initially out of the northwest become more variable through the late
morning before eventually becoming more southerly in the afternoon
and evening. Dense smoke will once again make for a tricky
temperature and RH forecast. Temperatures are expected in the low 70s
but may only reach the upper 60s closer to the lakeshores and spot
location. Minimum RHs for the interior island will fall into the
upper 40s to low 50s, however, adjacent to the water under a cooler
forecast RHs at the spot location may only fall into the 60s. No
precipitation is expected today. Scattered showers are thunderstorms
return early tomorrow morning. There is a 60-80% chance for rainfall
amounts >0.25", greater in thunderstorms.
