209 FNUS73 KMQT 070946 FWSMQT Spot Forecast for TEST TEST TEST BW DRILL SPOT...NWS National Weather Service Marquette MI 546 AM EDT Sun Sep 7 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0600 EDT on September 07. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... *made up scenario for discussion practice* Hazardous marine weather conditions are expected today as ongoing NW 25-30 kt gusts persist through the next 24 hours. This will create significant wave heights upwards of 4-7 feet. Additionally, scattered lake effect rain showers are possible (30-50% chance) in the vicinity of Grand Island and the eastern UP through this evening. Confidence is high (>75% chance) that winds will increase out of the north, becoming gales to 35 kts by tomorrow night. With this, wave heights will further build between 5-9 ft. There is a 50% chance that gusts to 40 kts will be present as well. Precipitation is not expected once lake effect rain showers diminish tonight. Aviation: MVFR conditions are expected under lake effect showers/clouds from Traverse City to the east-central UP. The main concern will be hazardous N to NW winds as 20-30 kt gusts are expected between 1-3k ft. VFR conditions follow tonight through tomorrow with diminishing lake effect showers/clouds, however, an increase in winds is expected with gusts 35-40 kts between 1-3k ft AGL tomorrow night, mainly after 7pm. .TODAY...
