FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
603 AM EDT Sat Aug 16 2025

.DISCUSSION...

No fire weather concerns are expected for the next week as abundant
moisture keeps minimum RHs above 40-50 percent. Showers and storms
are expected to move into the area through tonight, with wetting
rainfall (a tenth or more of rain) 60-80 percent likely for most of
the UP. The area that could has the greatest chance of missing out
on the rainfall is the Keweenaw; if this occurs, then drought
concerns may increase there. Otherwise, we could see some spots have
ponding/flooding/flash flooding problems tonight with multiple
inches of rainfall possible if multiple thunderstorms move over a
single location.
