FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
601 AM EDT Mon Aug 18 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Despite high pressure being the main feature of the forecast beyond
today and tonight, abundant low level moisture will keep minimum RHs
around or above 50 percent throughout the next week. For today,
showers with a few non-severe thunderstorms will pass over the UP,
though the rainfall total forecast has trended downwards, with most
of the UP expected to see only about a quarter to a half inch of
rain by Tuesday morning. Southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph will gust
to near 20 mph (higher over the Keweenaw). Showers and thunderstorms
will end in the west tonight and in the east Tuesday afternoon with
winds shifting to the northwest around 10 mph with gusts to 20 mph.
