FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
600 AM EDT Mon Sep 7 2026

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure over Ontario will influence the weather through today
with dry, warm conditions. Clouds will be on the increase as low
pressure takes shape in the lee of the Rockies and moves toward the
Canadian prairies. Mixing will help dry out the low levels today,
tapping into drier air and bringing afternoon humidity as low as 30%
in the west and 40-45% in the east. Southerly winds will begin to
increase late the afternoon and evening with gusts to 20 mph late
this afternoon into tonight. Expect wet and windy conditions on
Thursday with the western and eastern U.P. seeing a 60-80% chance
for 0.25" or more of rainfall; probabilities are a bit lower, 40-50%
in the central U.P.
