.DISCUSSION...
An approaching system will spread showers and thunderstorms across
the UP this afternoon and evening. Expect precipitation totals of a
quarter to half an inch, though some totals up to an inch are
expected from Baraga County to northern Schoolcraft County as
thunderstorms may last longer there. Expect southwest winds around 5-
10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph (except the Keweenaw, which could see
gusts up to 25 mph). The moist conditions will keep minimum RHs in
the 60s percent range and above Friday.
Saturday, showers and weak thunderstorms linger in the east. A
cooler airmass overhead will keep RHs over 50 percent throughout the
day, though westerly wind gusts will increase significantly, with
widespread gusts up to 20-25 mph in the afternoon and 30-40 mph over
the Keweenaw Peninsula.
