FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CENTRAL AND WEST...
.DISCUSSION:
A warm day is expected today across Upper Michigan, widespread 70s
expected away from the immediate lakeshores. Daytime highs could
potentially breaking into the low 80s in the interior west. This
heat, under mostly clear skies through the day across the west
half and clearing skies through the day in the east half, will
promote effective daytime mixing. Driest conditions are expected
across the interior west half. Given daytime heating has been
warmer than expected the past few days and that today`s highs will
be warmer, trended RH values near minimums for most of the
region. With this, forecast carries widespread near 20 RH values
in the interior west, with pockets as low as 15% being possible.
Across the east, morning cloud cover and slightly more moisture
should work to keep most areas in the 30s, although 25-30% can`t
be ruled out. Far eastern Upper Michigan may experience light rain
today thanks to being within proximity of forcing lifting
northwest around a low to the south. Winds are expected to be
light and mostly less than 15 mph.
A mostly dry cold front moves through the region this evening. In
its wake, breezy northerly winds and cooler conditions are
expected. Heat and dry conditions return Thursday and Friday.
