369 FNUS53 KMQT 141002 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 601 AM EDT Wed May 14 2025 ...Limited Fire Weather Concerns Today, Mainly West Half... .DISCUSSION... Fire weather concerns are limited to not expected today as a more humid airmass approaches from the south and east. Temperatures will be warm again, but a few degrees cooler than the past several days. The interior west could push 90 while mid 80s to mid 70s will be seen elsewhere. Cooler temps are again expected closer to Lake Michigan. S to SE winds are forecast to be light with gusts upwards of 10-15 kts. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop mainly in the west half this afternoon, and with RHs dropping between 40-50% a stray lightning strike could potentially ignite a wildfire. Widespread soaking rains are not expected under scattered showers/storm, however, a heavier storm could produce spotty 0.1 to 0.25" of rain. More widespread rainfall arrives Thursday through the weekend.
