...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHWESTERN
MINNESOTA THROUGH THIS EVENING...
.DISCUSSION...Critical fire weather conditions persist across
much of central and southern Minnesota for one more evening.
RH`s between 15-25 percent and winds gusting to between 20-30 mph
across western Minnesota this evening. A Special Weather
Statement remains east of the Red Flag Warning, along the I-35
corridor, where the very dry state of the fuels will continue to
prompt elevated fire weather conditions despite marginal RH`s
(25-30 percent) and lighter winds. Moisture advects northwest into
the region through Wednesday, ahead of the next chance for
widespread precipitation Thursday into Friday. For this reason, we
are not anticipating another fire headline for Wednesday with RHs
in the mid to upper 20s at their lowest. Western Minnesota will
be the focus tomorrow, with an Special Weather Statement likely.
