...Changes to the Red Flag Warning Criteria...

The Alabama Fire Weather Program will change the criteria for Fire
Weather Watches and Red Flag Warnings effective April 20, 2025.
These changes will enhance the products issued by the National
Weather Service. The National Weather Service, The United States
Forest Service, The Alabama Forestry Commission, and The United
States Fish and Wildlife Service have agreed to the Watch/Warning
criteria:

    1. A Moderate Risk for Significant Fire Potential issued through
       the National Interagency Coordination Center.

    2. Minimum Relative humidity less than 25%.

    3. 20-foot Wind greater than or equal to 15 mph or 20-foot Wind
       Gusts greater than or equal to 20 mph. (10-meter ASOS Winds
       greater than or equal to 17 mph or 20-foot Wind Gusts greater
       than or equal to 25 mph.)
