...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Alabama, including the
  following counties, Covington and Crenshaw.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 450 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Opp, Brantley, Dozier, Heath, Gantt, Eoda, Wiggins, Straughn,
    Coldwater, Searight, Sanford, Babbie, Valley Of Shiloh,
    Dunns, New Hope, Horn Hill, Rawls, Boston, Theba and Blairs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
