...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS INTRACOASTAL AND
ATLANTIC WATERS NEAR CAPE CANAVERAL...

The areas affected include...
  Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm...
  Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nm...

At 705 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 11 nm southwest of Maytown to
near Canaveral Groves to near Merritt Island, moving northeast at 15
knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

Frequent cloud to water lightning is occurring with these storms. If
caught on the open water stay below deck and, if possible, avoid
ungrounded metal objects. Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10
miles away from a thunderstorm.
