            *** 1 FATAL ***
            Suspected rip current fatality. A
            58-year-old female from Daytona Beach was
            pulled unconscious from the ocean near 150
            S. Ocean Ave in Daytona Beach at
            approximately 3:25 p.m. on Fri. Sep. 26,
            2025. She was transported to a nearby
            hospital where she eventually succumbed to
            her injuries on Fri. Oct. 3, 2025. A second
            swimmer was rescued at the same time;
            however, they did not require medical
            treatment.
