West to southwest winds today will increase to 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 in the afternoon as the pressure gradient tightens. North to northwest winds at 10 mph or less on Thursday will become east to southeast in the late afternoon and evening as the east coast sea breeze pushes inland. While conditions will be mostly dry today, there is a high (60 percent) chance of rain and lightning storms at the burn site on Thursday. Some storms may be strong to marginally severe on Thursday. Primary storm threats will be strong winds gusts of 40-60 mph, hail up to 1 inch in diameter, frequent lightning strikes and locally heavy rainfall of 1-3 inches.
