Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 PM EDT Sun Jun 29 2025

.DISCUSSION...

High coverage of showers and lightning storms will continue each day
through at least mid-week, as deep moisture remains in place over
the local area. Shower and storm chances 50-80% each day, mainly
during the afternoon and evening hours, though occasional early
initiation could occur late morning. Storms will be slow-moving and
the strongest will be capable of frequent lightning strikes, wind
gusts locally up to 50 mph, small hail, and locally heavy downpours,
especially along the sea breeze collision. Light south to
southwesterly flow each morning will become southeasterly and
increase to around 10 mph along the coast in the afternoon as the
sea breeze develops and moves inland. Light transport winds will
contribute to Poor to Fair afternoon smoke dispersion this
afternoon. Then, Generally Good to Very Good dispersion is forecast
early this week, as transport winds increase. Humid conditions and
highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s will lead to peak heat indices
in the upper 90s to around 100F each day.

Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
