.DISCUSSION...
Drier air moves into the area today as Hurricane Erin passes well
offshore. Rain chances remain scattered, particularly along the
coast. Moisture will then steadily rebuild, increasing rain chances
to around 60% Thursday and up to 70% into the weekend. Winds shift
north-northwest today increasing to 10-15 mph inland and up to 20
mph along the coast. Light west winds are then expected Thursday
into late week. Good to Very Good smoke dispersion is forecast.
There are no min RH concerns through the period. High temperatures
range the low to mid 90s with peak heat index values between 100-106
degrees.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
