.DISCUSSION...
The Atlantic ridge axis will be near to just north of the area
through late week, with winds persisting generally out of the
southeast. Winds around 5-10 mph in the morning increase to 10-15
mph along the coast each afternoon. Deep moisture lingers through
today, continuing high coverage of showers and lightning storms,
particularly across the interior (rain chances 50-70%). However,
rain chances then decrease into Friday (to 20-50%) as drier air
begins to move into the area, with this trend continuing into the
weekend. Hot and humid conditions are forecast, with highs in the
low 90s today and in the low to mid 90s on Friday-Sunday. Peak
afternoon heat index values will range from 102-107 degrees each
afternoon and perhaps a little higher into the weekend. Dispersion
values will be Generally Good today, Fair to Generally Good on
Friday, and Fair for Saturday.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
