Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Central Florida
National Weather Service Melbourne FL
300 AM EDT Sat Aug 16 2025

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EDT
THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Showers and storms will be favored near, north, and west of I-4 late
today with coverage forecast to increase areawide Sunday and Monday
(50-70%). A drier airmass will then reduce rain chances into mid
week. Light and variable winds today and tomorrow become established
out of the east each afternoon as the east coast sea breeze moves
inland. Northeast flow then develops Monday, increasing to 10-15
mph. Light winds will keep smoke dispersion poor to fair this
weekend, improving on Monday with increasing wind speeds. There are
no min RH concerns through the period. Temperatures in the low to
mid 90s combined with high humidity will produce peak heat index
values between 105-109 degrees today, and a Heat Advisory is in
effect for Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, and Brevard
counties.

Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
