.DISCUSSION...
Onshore (easterly) flow continues through Friday, increasing to 10-
15 mph as the sea breeze moves inland each afternoon. A few onshore
moving showers cannot be ruled out along the Treasure Coast early
today. Otherwise, drier air will maintain low rain chances with only
10-20% coverage across the far interior and the western side of the
peninsula late in the day. A plume of deeper moisture increases rain
chances on Friday, primarily south of Leesburg and Sanford (30-60%).
A wet pattern of scattered to locally numerous showers and storms
then continues into the weekend as offshore (southwesterly) flow
develops and the sea breeze collision becomes favored on the eastern
side of the Florida peninsula. There are no critical RH concerns
through the period. Generally good smoke dispersion is forecast
today and Friday, becoming poor to fair on Saturday. High
temperatures mostly range the low to mid 90s, although areas near
and north of the I-4 corridor may touch the upper 90s today. Peak
heat index values are forecast to exceed 100F areawide.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
