.DISCUSSION...
Light westerly winds this morning will pick up to around 10 mph this
afternoon, with some spots along the coast becoming variable as the
east coast sea breeze develops and attempts to move inland,
primarily from the Cape southward. Similar winds are forecast on
Thursday, becoming slightly more west-northwest. Drier air moves in
overhead helping to limit convective development, but overall there
are no minimum RH concerns anticipated through the middle of the
week. Afternoon smoke dispersion values are forecast to be good to
very good today and Thursday.
Isolated to scattered showers and storms will be possible each
afternoon, with lightning strikes, wind gusts to 55 mph, and brief
heavy downpours possible with the strongest storm development.
Activity is forecast to push offshore through the evening and
overnight hours.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility
reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible
even if fog is not forecast.
